Often it can, but it depends on the lock. Some old garage lock designs are built so that opening them destroys the lock — if so, we say this before starting.
Can the house and the garage share one key?
Yes, if both are fitted with cylinders from one system. The same applies to a gate with a cylinder lock.
How quickly can a lock be replaced?
Replacing a standard cylinder is a short job. If it is a special design or a non-standard size, the part may have to be ordered — we say so as soon as we have looked at the lock.
